What is LoJack® and How Does it Work?

“The Most Successful Theft Recovery System on Earth”

Each year – over 800,000 vehicles are stolen, resulting in 1.5 vehicles stolen every minute. The LoJack® System is proven to be so effective because it is the only system that works directly with police.

When a vehicle is stolen, the LoJack® System silently leads police to your vehicle’s exact location. So, how exactly does this work? First, with a LoJack® unit, if your vehicle goes missing, one call to the police puts your LoJack® System into action. The optional LoJack® System with Early Warning notifies you via text, phone, or e-mail if your vehicle moves.

As soon as your vehicle is reported stolen, your LoJack® System is activated, emitting a uniquely coded signal to a network of police cars, helicopters & airplanes. Police then use the LoJack® Tracking System installed in their vehicles to pick up your car’s signal. Because the LoJack® System can work where GPS can’t, police can easily track your vehicle. This includes places such as through concrete, buildings & steel.

The LoJack® System includes a 24-hour theft recovery or your money back, no monthly fees, and the device is installed in covert locations. This makes it more difficult for thieves to know the system is there. Also, reports have shown a 90% recovery rate on cars and trucks.

Different upgrades available for LoJack® include LoJack® System with Early Warning, Protection Plus 5000 (PP 5000), and Extended Warranty (XLW). The LoJack® System with Early Warning alerts you by phone, e-mail or text message if your vehicle has been moved without your authorization. Protection Plus 5000 pays a total loss benefit of up to $5,000 if your vehicle is not recovered within 30 days, or after recovery, is deemed a total loss due to theft. Extended Warranty extends your two-year Limited Warranty.
